We use Hubdoc primarily to retrieve client documents such as bank or credit card statements, which is a big improvement because we had traditionally waited for clients to send these documents over to us which often lead to delays. We also use it for our outsourced accounting clients to retrieve bills from vendors and import them into Bill.com.
- Retrieve client statements from banks/credit card companies
- Their CPA hub is basically non-existent
- The lack of a CPA platform makes it annoying and counter-intuitive to manage multiple clients
- There is no ability to manage permissions
- It made our scheduling more reliable because we have the documents we need more quickly
- We have less annoying client contacts where we were traditionally constantly bugging them to send us documents
- It has made the bill input process much more efficient, saving us time
Receipt Bank is similar, but does not retrieve documents, it focuses on collecting documents that are submitted by the clients (which Hubdoc also does). Receipt Bank's platform for CPAs is significantly more advanced and robust (Hubdoc's is basically non-existent), but the most valuable area for us at this point is retrieving client statements, which Receipt Bank does not do.
